Three weeks ago I was in Paris. I have spotted some interesting signs, maps and fingerpoints of Paris. These urban signs help you to find the right way if you get lost.
You can see all photos in the Flickr set.
I have posted here the most interesting of them.
Pedestrian fingerpointers

These signs are can be found everywhere in Paris. It is a very simple and helpful wayfinding system for pedestrians.

I saw these simple district maps on some central squares. On the top of the sign you can normally see the street name and number of the district. On the bottom of the sign there is a simple map of the closest area.

Some street name signs have ads stickers on them.

This is an old style street name sign. I don’t know how old it is. I saw a few old style signs in the central part of the city.

The map of some construction area. The map shows where to go if you need to pass this area. This map the one of the streets maps witch helps you to find right way.
Public trasportations
The Parisian metropolitan wayfinding systems are good, but the few times I have seen an excessive number of signs at the stations. Especially are where stations integrating with RER-stations you can meet different new and old signs styles on the one wall.
All signs of the central stations where lot of tourists are clear and excellent.

Important service destinations labeled in three languages (French, English, Spanish), less important labels or stations names are only in French.

The good idea to mark stations not only their names and closest attractions and beauty sights too. This is yellow RER-line map where tourists can find sights and famous places by their names or icons.

On the each station before exit you can find the district map.

On the bus stops the pedestrians can discover passing buses routes and district map.

On the half of the all bus stops where glass pavilion you can find whole city map with all buses routes.

The district map on the RER-station outdoor sign.
